
Kentucky STUNT Wins Twice at The Joust
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Kentucky STUNT team won a pair of games in The Joust at California Baptist, one of the nation’s best STUNT tournaments, on Friday night.
Kentucky (18-0) topped Arizona Christian 12-0 in an 8-round game, then beat William Jessup 20-11 to complete the Friday sweep.
Game one was played in an 8-round format, or essentially half of a normal game. In the first quarter, partner stunts, Kentucky won both points to take a 2-0 lead. In the second period, pyramids and tosses, UK again won both points and the Cats led 4-0 at the half.
In the third quarter, jumps and tumbling, Kentucky took both points to lead 6-0. And in the final frame, team routine, the Cats took all six points to complete the shutout.
Game two saw Kentucky and William Jessup split the first two points before the Cats won the final two points of the period to lead 3-1. In the second quarter, the teams tied on the first routine before splitting the next two points. The final routine was also a tie and UK took a 6-4 lead into the half.
In the third quarter, the teams tied the first routine before UK won the second. Jessup won the third point but the Cats won the final point of the quarter and took a 9-6 lead into the final stanza. In the final period, Kentucky earned 11 points compared to just five for Jessup.
Kentucky is now 18-0 this season, which is the best start in school history and is the longest winning streak in the program’s four-year history.
Kentucky returns to action on Saturday, wrapping up play in The Joust. UK will face Arizona State at 8 p.m. ET, then an opponent to be determined at 9 p.m.
