UK Women’s Tennis Named 2021 ITA All-Academic Team

by Chandler Brandes

LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the third-consecutive year, the University of Kentucky women’s tennis team earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team recognition after posting a 3.583 grade point average in 2020-21.

Fiona Arrese, Carla Girbau, Lesedi Jacobs, Maialen Morante, Mina Obradovic, Akvile Paražinskaite, Elizabeth Stevens, and Diana Tkachenko were also named ITA Scholar-Athletes for their individual achievements in the classroom.

The eight players selected as ITA Scholar-Athletes matched the UK program record of individuals receiving the honor.

To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have had a minimum GPA of 3.2 for the most recent academic year, while those named an ITA Scholar-Athlete compiled a 3.5 GPA or higher.

This marks the third such career honor for Parazinskaite, who recorded a 3.75 GPA as a diplomacy and international commerce graduate student. Jacobs, Morante, and Tkachenko have earned the distinction for the second time, with Morante holding a perfect 4.0.
