No. 13 Kentucky Softball Picked Fifth in SEC By League Coaches
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 13 Kentucky Softball team was picked to finish fifth by the Southeastern Conference coaches in the annual preseason poll, it was announced on Thursday afternoon.
The No. 8/8 Alabama Crimson Tide was picked to win the SEC, receiving nine of the 13 first-place votes. No. 5/5 LSU received a pair of first place votes, No. 7/6 Florida tallied one first place vote, along with (RV) Tennessee.
Kentucky begins the 2021 season on Feb. 12 on the road at Samford for a three-game series against the Bulldogs in Homewood, Alabama.
Points for the poll were awarded on a 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12 basis. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.
The 2021 SEC Softball Tournament is slated for May 12-15 at Rhoads Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
