Kentucky Hosts Missouri at John Cropp Stadium for SEC Series
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Riding a 12-game winning streak, the No. 13/14 Kentucky softball team will host the Missouri Tigers for a three-game series over the weekend at John Cropp Stadium in Lexington.
All three games of the series will be shown live on the SEC Network+, ESPN3 and the ESPN app with Dave Baker and Carol Bruggeman on the call. Friday’s game is at 6 p.m. ET, Saturday at 2 p.m. ET and the series finale will commence at Noon ET.
Saturday is “Bark in the Park”, where fans will be highly encouraged to bring their four-legged friends with them to the game. More information about “Bark in the Park” can be found here.
The Wildcats are just one game away from tying the school record for the longest winning streak in program history at 13 games – which was set back in March of the 2017 season.
UK’s Abbey Cheek tied the career home run record on Wednesday afternoon at Marshall with her seventh HR of the season and 48th of her career. The next home run she hit will break Brittan Cervantes’ seven-year record.
In the circle, Autumn Humes has a 0.34 ERA in Southeastern Conference games this season and is 4-0 in league play. She leads the league in ERA for SEC-games only, and also has four wins – the most of anyone in league games.
Kentucky is 10-7 all-time against Missouri in program history. The last time that UK faced the Tigers was in 2017, when the Wildcats swept Mizzou in Columbia in a three-game series. The two teams did not play last year due to the SEC scheduling structure. The last time UK hosted Missouri, Kentucky won games one and three of a three-game series to take the weekend. That was back in April of the 2016 season at John Cropp Stadium.
