LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky softball senior Brooklin Hinz was named to the 2018 Southeastern Conference Community Service Team on Wednesday afternoon, it was announced by the league office.

Hinz has served as the Wildcats team ticket representative for the season and a team captain for her senior season in addition to all of the community service that she has put in the Lexington community.

She has worked with God’s Pantry to help pack lunch bags for underprivileged kids in the Lexington area, and then delivered them to local elementary schools around the area.

Hinz put in over 100 hours of community service while at St. Thomas Aquinas High School and over 45 logged hours while at UK.

A native of Olathe, Kansas, the senior outfielder is hitting .344 on the season with three home runs and 24 runs batted in on the year. She has been one of UK’s most clutch hitters all season in crucial situations and has double-digit two-out RBI at the plate.

Hinz and the Wildcats open SEC play on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. ET against the No. 7 Arkansas Razorbacks in Columbia, Missouri. The game will be shown live on the SEC Network, WatchESPN and the ESPN app.
