Day Two of Mary Nutter Classic Cancelled Due to Weather

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. – Day two of the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic has been cancelled due to inclement weather in the Palm Springs, California area and field conditions from overnight rains.
Kentucky finishes the tournament with a 2-1 record – with wins over No. 5 UCLA and UC – Davis. The Wildcats will not play Cal State Northridge, as was originally scheduled.
The following is a statement from the organizing body of the tournament: “The decision has been made to cancel all of Saturday’s play at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. Despite the efforts of our staff, field conditions have not improved enough to ensure the safety of the athletes to play on February 18.”
Kentucky will return to action next weekend in Boca Raton, Florida for the FAU Invitational – where UK will play Florida Atlantic, Memphis, UConn and Florida A&M.
