LEXINGTON, Ky. – No. 5 seed Georgia plated seven tallies on 10 hits en route to a 7-0 shutout of No. 4 LSU in the second game of four quarterfinal contests of the Southeastern Conference Tournament held in Lexington, Ky., on Thursday afternoon in John Cropp Stadium.
The Bulldogs advance to take on top-seeded Florida at 1 p.m. ET on Friday. The game will air live on ESPNU.
Georgia struck for its first run in the top of the third frame. The Bulldogs then logged a pair of tallies in the fifth and one in the sixth. A home run from Katie Browne highlighted a three-spot in the top of the seventh to stretch the Bulldogs’ lead to a 7-0 advantage that would prove too much for the Tigers.
