LEXINGTON, Ky. – Following the recent devastation in the Tuscaloosa, Ala., area due to severe weather, the Kentucky softball team will not travel to Alabama to take on the Crimson Tide for the scheduled three game series this weekend.

No damage was done to Alabama’s Rhodes Stadium during the storms, however, with the extenuating circumstances, team officials have decided it was in the best interest to cancel the series.

Similar to the midweek games vs. Ole Miss that were canceled, there will be no make-up games.

Kentucky will return to action playing host to Auburn for a three game series beginning on May 5.

UK has clinched a spot in the Southeastern Conference Tournament for a school-record third consecutive season. Following the Auburn series, UK will travel to Oxford, Miss., for the league tournament May 12-14.

Those wishing to donate to the relief efforts in Tuscaloosa can text REDCROSS to 90999 to contribute $10.
