LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky softball team has enjoyed two of the most prolific seasons in school allure in back-to-back seasons and will begin fall action this weekend. The Blue and White have advanced to the NCAA Tournament and charted 30 or more victories for the first time in school history in consecutive years.

Head Coach Rachel Lawson will begin her fourth season with the program this season and will lead her team into fall competition beginning this weekend. UK is set to host four different teams this fall in doubleheader action. Up first, Kentucky welcomes Georgetown College Sept. 26 at the UK Softball Complex. First pitch of the doubleheader is slated for 1 p.m. ET.

Kentucky will then host Marshall, Oct. 2 at 2 p.m. ET. Following that competition, on Sunday, Oct. 3 the Wildcats are set to play host to Morehead State beginning at 1 p.m. ET.

UK concludes fall action on Oct. 10 with a doubleheader against Eastern Kentucky. First pitch for that matchup is set for 1 p.m. ET.

The Wildcats return 14 letterwinners from a season ago including All-SEC performer Megan Yocke. The senior class of Meagan Aull, Samantha DeMartine, Annie Rowlands and Yocke has been fixtures in the UK starting lineup in all three seasons of their careers. Additionally, junior pitchers Chanda Bell and Rachel Riley anchor the squad from the circle.

Kentucky will welcome to the field eight highly-touted freshmen to the squad this season. All eight members of the freshman class are expected to see their first collegiate action during the fall competition.

All games will be played at the UK Softball Complex. Admission is $5.
