LEXINGTON, Ky. ? Kentucky freshman Molly Johnson has been named the Southeastern Conference softball Freshman of the Week. This is the second honor for the rookie this season who also won the award on March 5.

Johnson led the Wildcats over the weekend with a .444 batting average in the three-game series with No. 20 Florida. She had a team-best five RBI against the Gators and posted a 1.000 slugging percentage. The Tucson, Ariz., native doubled and homered in the second game of the series which was played over two days due to a rain-suspended game. Johnson had four hits in the series and ends the year with a three-game hitting streak. Johnson had two doubles in the series to tie the UK team record with 66 this season.

Johnson finishes her freshman campaign ranked third on the team with a .340 batting average, first with 11 doubles and was third with seven home runs this season. Her 32 runs scored were third on the team and her 36 RBI ranked her third, as well.

The Wildcats wrapped up the 2007 season against the Gators, finishing with a record of 20-31.
