The Kentucky softball team will continue their 2004 season on Feb. 7-8 in Monroe, La., at the Mardi Gras Classic. The Cats will take on host Louisiana-Monroe, Louisiana Lafayette, Georgia Tech and Gardner Webb in the two-day tournament.

The Cats are coming off their best start in school history after going 2-0 at the Fun and Sun Classic in Miami, Fla. UK beat Florida A & M 9-0 before downing host Florida International 3-2 in extra innings. The Cats were also set to face Auburn and Illinois State in the tournament, but the games were cancelled due to inclement weather.

UK has never faced Gardner Webb and is 0-1 all-time vs. the three other opponents this weekend. Action will kick-off Saturday at 9 a.m. when the Cats face Louisiana Lafayette.
