The University of Kentucky softball team will have to wait a few days for their home opener. The UK Invitational, scheduled for this weekend, March 1-2, has been canceled due to freezing conditions.

Tommy Davis, assistant turf manager, explained that even if the temperature rose, there is not enough time for the frozen field to warm up to a playable condition.

The next scheduled home games are Wednesday, March 5, when the Cats will host a doubleheader with Ohio State, beginning at 5 p.m. ET.
