LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky softball team’s Southeastern Conference home-opening series with Tennessee has been cancelled due to the excessive rain that has been falling in the Bluegrass. The three-game series, originally scheduled to start with a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 19, and temporarily rescheduled for two games on Wednesday, will not be made up.
The Wildcats (15-11, 1-2 SEC) will hit the road once again this weekend as they travel to Oxford, Miss., for a three-game conference series with the Ole Miss Rebels. The Lady Vols (28-10-1, 5-3 SEC) will also stay on the road, heading to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for a three-game set with the Crimson Tide.
Kentucky will return to the UK softball Complex on Tuesday, March 26 when the Cats plays host to Akron in a doubleheader slated to start at 3 p.m. ET.
