(Jan. 31, 2001) — Four University of Kentucky softball players were inducted into the Frank G. Ham Society of Character for the fall of 2000. Beth Fogle, Angie Dal Pozzo, Andrea Eilertson, and Leslie Kwiatkowski were chosen as fall inductees for the softball team. A ceremony recognizing these student-athletes was held at halftime of the Kentucky-Vanderbilt men’s basketball game on Saturday, January 27.
The award recognizes student-athletes who give their best to everything they do and those honored are chosen on the basis of five criteria. These criteria are: commitment to academic excellence, commitment to athletic participation, commitment to personal development, commitment to being a role-model, and commitment to preparing for the world of work. Coaches, counselors, trainers or managers can nominate those they feel would deserve recognition.
Past softball inductees include Michelle Bucci and Tiffany Kruse in 1999, and Sarah Snider and Tracie Potts in 2000.
