The University of Kentucky softball team will be playing a short fall season, with tryouts beginning Monday, Aug. 28 and practice starting on Wednesday, Aug. 30. Approximately four student-athletes will be chosen for the team.

The fall season will end on September 30 with a tournament at the UK Softball Complex including teams such as Georgetown College and Morehead State University.

“Fall practice is a good chance for us to see the newest members of the team perform,” Coach Beth Kirchner said.

The Wildcats look to continue the success from last season as they went 36-29, the team’s most prolific year since the program’s inception in 1997. The regular season will begin in February.
