LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky softball team will play host to the LouisvilleCardinals on Wednesday, March 29 at the UK Softball Complex. The first gameof the doubleheader is set for 6 p.m., while the second game is slated for8 p.m.”Louisville is going to be a tough doubleheader for us,” UK coach BethKirchner said. “With the number of upperclassmen they have, they’re prettyexperienced, so I expect two very competitive games. We are very excited tostart the rivalry between UK and Louisville in softball.”

UL (23-10, 3-0 C-USA) is in its first year playing on the collegiate level.

The Cats, who are tied for first in the Southeastern Conference EasternDivision, have won 10 of its last 13 games including a two-game sweep overAuburn last Friday, extending its school-record winning streak to sevengames. UK (17-15, 2-2 SEC) dropped a doubleheader to 14th-ranked Alabama onSaturday.

UK pitcher Keary Camunas was named the SEC Pitcher of the Week on Mondayby the league office. Last week, the senior from Lake Forest, Calif., went3-1 and allowed just one earned run. Camunas (10-8) has won seven of herlast eight starts, four of which have been shutouts.
