BRISTOL, Tenn. – Notre Dame pitcher Melanie Alkire pitched ano-hitter asthe UK softball team fell to the Fighting Irish, 8-0, on the final day of theState Line Classic.

Jenny Kirech went 2-3 for the Irish (10-4) with two doubles, andAndriaBledsoe added a 2-3 performance at the plate.

UK pitcher Jen Howland dropped to 3-4 on the season, while the Catsfinished the two-day tournament with a record of 0-3.

UK (7-12) returns to action on Wednesday afternoon with their 2000 homeopener with a doubleheader against Morehead State. First pitch is slated for 2p.m. with the second set for a 4 p.m. start.
