LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky softball team continues Southeastern Conference play this weekend, as the Wildcats play host to defending SEC Champion South Carolina in a pair of doubleheaders at the UK Softball Complex.
Friday’s doubleheader is set to begin at 6 p.m., while the second doubleheader is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start on Saturday. The Wildcats (13-18, 1-3 SEC) have won three of their last four games, including a two-game sweep of Morehead State on Wednesday. UK’s lone conference win was a 6-1 victory over Auburn in Game 2 of last Sunday’s doubleheader.
South Carolina enters the weekend with a 16-10 record, but have won five of their last six contests. USC has split six conference games for a 3-3 SEC mark, dropping three of four to Florida and sweeping Ole Miss in a two-game series.
Last season, South Carolina posted a 63-5 record, 25-1 in the Southeastern Conference, and won the SEC regular season title and the SEC Tournament crown en route to an NCAA Women’s College World Series appearance.
