For the third time in nine days, the University of Kentucky softball team has had its mid-week doubleheader cancelled due to weather. The Kentucky-Indiana State doubleheader, scheduled for today in Terre Haute, Ind., was cancelled due to heavy rain in the central Indiana area. UK had doubleheaders with South Dakota State and at Middle Tennessee State cancelled last Monday and Tuesday, respectively. Kentucky continues action this weekend, as the Wildcats open the 1998 Southeastern Conference season by playing host to Alabama and Auburn. UK faces the Crimson Tide in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. Saturday, while the Wildcats take on the Tigers in a 1 p.m. Sunday doubleheader. Both doubleheaders will take place at the UK Softball Stadium, located on Alumni Drive adjacent to Commonwealth Stadium.
