LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky softball team will square off against theGeorgia Bulldogs in a four-game series that kicks off Friday evening at theUK Softball Complex.

UK and UGA will play a doubleheader beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday and adoubleheader starting at Noon on Saturday.

UK (17-25, 2-6 SEC) is coming off a four-game series against SouthCarolina last weekend. The Wildcats upset the No. 10-ranked Gamecocks inthe first game, but dropped the final three games of the series.

The Wildcats are led by sophomores Tiffany Kruse and Leslie Kwiatkowski.The two outfielders lead UK in every offensive category. Kruse is batting.383 with 51 hits, 4 doubles, and 28 RBIs. Kwiatkowski leads the team inruns with 30, home runs with five, total bases with 72, and sluggingpercentage .576.

UGA (21-14, 6-2) is in second place in the SEC Eastern Division headinginto Lexington this weekend. The Bulldogs split a two-game series withFlorida State on Sunday in Athens, Ga.

Junior pitcher Natalie Price will lead UGA against the Wildcats. Price hasbeen named the SEC Pitcher of the Week three times this season and issecond in the conference with 143 strikeouts. Her record stands at 16-6with an earned run average of 1.63.

Beth Adams is UGA’s leading hitter with a batting average of .359. She hasrecorded 37 hits this season and has stolen 18 bases.

UGA nearly pulled off the four-game sweep against UK last season. TheWildcats edged the Bulldogs, 1-0, in the final game of the series to avoidthe sweep.

UGA leads the all-time series between the two school, 6-2.
