LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 14 Kentucky softball team just completed the most successful run in program history through the 2014 NCAA Tournament, advancing to the Women’s College World Series and finishing the season with a program-best 50 wins.
Now the Big Blue Nation can welcome one of the nation’s best softball teams back to the Commonwealth as the team will hold a season celebration at John Cropp Stadium once arriving back to campus on Sunday at approx. 1:30 p.m. ET.
Fans are encouraged to attend the celebration where they will have the chance to meet and get autographs from the team and coaching staff and enjoy free ice cream. Admission and parking to John Cropp Stadium will be free of charge.
“Spending the last few weeks in California and Oklahoma, we have felt the Big Blue Nation’s support and it helped propel this team and our program to new heights,” UK head coach Rachel Lawson said. “I can think of no better way to celebrate the conclusion of the best season of softball the University of Kentucky has ever seen then by all of us being back together at John Cropp Stadium one last time.”
