Leslie Kwiatkowski, a sophomore on the University of Kentucky softballteam, has been selected to the 1998-99 GTE Academic All-District IV SecondTeam, which was announced on Thursday.

Kwiatkowski is an accounting major from South Bend, Ind., and was one offive Wildcats named to the 1999 SEC Softball Academic Honor Roll on Monday. The district team is comprised of student-athletes from Division I schoolsin Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee. To be nominated,student-athletes must be a starter or a key reserve and carry a cumulativegrade-point average of 3.20 or higher.

The centerfielder helped lead the Wildcats to 23 wins this year, the mostin the three-year history of the UK program. UK’s top offensive threatthis season, she led in games played, games started, batting average, runs,hits, home runs, RBI, total bases, and slugging percentage. Kwiatkowskialso broke 10 single-season school records.
