LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky softball team will host the Morehead StateEagles in the Cats’ home opener on Wednesday, March 8, in a doubleheaderbeginning at 2 p.m. at the UK Softball Complex.

“We are excited to come back home and play on our own field after fourweekends on the road,” UK coach Beth Kirchner said. “Anytime you get toplay at home, it’s an advantage because of the familiarity the players havewith the field and facility. We need to come out and play like we arecapable of and gain some early momentum.”

UK (7-12) returns home after nineteen straight games away from the UKSoftball Complex. The Cats went 0-3 at the State line Classic in Bristol,Tenn., last weekend and will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak.

Last season, UK defeated Morehead, 9-5, in Lexington, Ky., as pitcher JenHowland picked up her fifth win of the season.
