The Kentucky softball team steps out of Southeastern Conference play as Morehead State visits Lexington for a doubleheaderon Wednesday, April 11, at the UK Softball Complex. Action gets underway at 5 p.m.

“It is the time in our season where we need to click on all cylinders,” UK coach Beth Kirchner said. “We expect good pitching,good defense and good offense. When all these facets come together we are a good team. We need to expect consistency.”

After dropping five of its last six contests, UK (18-23, 5-11 SEC) is looking to gain some momentum heading into thisweekend’s three-game series against SEC Eastern Division leader South Carolina. Junior shortstop Angie Dal Pozzo leads the Wildcats at the plate with a .344 batting average and five home runs, while sophomoresecond baseman Nikki Jones is currently riding an eight-game hitting streak. Sophomore hurler Morgan Marr leads the Wildcatpitching staff with 12 wins on the season and an ERA of 2.91.
