The Kentucky Wildcat softball team gets back to action this weekend, Feb. 11-13, at the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. Several top 25 teams highlight the tournament field, including the sixth-ranked host Stanford Cardinal.

The Cats will face #21 Long Beach State (4-1) at noon on Friday, Feb. 11, in their opening game of the weekend, followed by a 2 p.m. matchup against undefeated San Diego State (5-0). Play continues Saturday, Feb. 12, as UK faces #6 Stanford at 6 p.m. and Cal-Poly in the nightcap at 8 p.m. The Wildcats wrap up play with a Sunday contest against the DePaul Blue Demons at noon.

?We had a disappointing record last weekend, but we played well in our last game,? said head coach Eileen Schmidt. ?We just need to build on the things we did right in that game and continue to get better. The competition is extremely tough this weekend.?
