Junior (2018): First-Team CoSIDA Academic All-American … Finalist for 2018 Female Athlete of the Year at the CATSPY Awards … 2018 SEC All-Defensive Team (SS) … 2018 Second Team All-SEC … 2018 SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year … 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-District …  Elected to the Frank G. Ham Society of Character … Had nine multi-RBI games and 15 multi-hit games this season … Scored 2+ runs in 13 games this year, including three against New Mexico State on Feb. 11 and Alabama on March 31… Had four triples on the season, a new career-high… Scored on the same play in which she hit, roping a double to the wall and then coming around to score on a fielding error by the center fielder … Had 14 stolen bases, second on the team … Had a hit in 10-straight games before UK was no-hit by Kelly Barnhill … She then responded by going 3-for-3 with three singles against Barnhill in the Sunday match-up and reached base safely in every at bat against the All-American … Hit a HR at Auburn to give UK its only lead of the series … Went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and a home run vs. Alabama on March 31 … Recorded her first-career four-hit game at Texas A&M on Friday night when she went 4-for-4 with three singles and a double. 

Sophomore (2017): NFCA All-American, Third in program history … First Team All-SEC … Eighth player in program history to be named First Team All-SEC … ‘SportsCenter’ Top 10 Play on 5/21 in the Regional Final vs. Illinois … Was hand-picked by UK AD Mitch Barnhart to speak on behalf of student-athletes at the opening of the new UK Science Building on campus because of her wonderful academic success … Maintains a 4.0 GPA in the classroom… Moved from second base to shortstop in the offseason, where she has just committed five errors all season at that position … Primarily was UK’s lead-off batter through the opening month of the season before sliding back to the two slot in the order behind Rethlake before getting bumped back up in early April … When she was the lead-off batter in her first stint of the season, she led the Wildcats in batting average and hits, as well as OBP through the first four weeks of the season … Already has 17 multi-hit games this season, and is speedy and smart on the basepaths  … Holds the school record for hitting streak (18 games) set in 2016 for the first 18 games of her career … Scored a run in 23 different games this season … When hitting in the lead-off spot of an inning is hitting a whopping .466 … Hit her first home run in over a calendar year in the first inning at Georgia in game two, then homered vs. Arkansas to lead off the first inning in game one of the series … Played against her sister, Bailee, in the John Cropp Classic (Drexel) … Ended an eight-game hitting streak in game one of a doubleheader with Arkansas … Went 3-for-4 with two doubles in game three against Tennessee … Recorded her 14th multi-hit game of the year at Louisville, scoring two runs after she was inserted back into the lead-off spot … Went 3-for-4 against Florida in UK’s win, including a two-RBI double to give UK a 5-1 lead in the sixth inning … Had an 11-game hit streak snapped by South Carolina  … Finished second in the SEC in batting average for league games only (.380).

Freshman (2016): SEC Freshman of the Week (2/22) … Fourth on Kentucky in hitting with a .316 average and a .445 on-base percentage … Started her career on an 18-game hitting streak, breaking Kara Dill’s school-record 15-game hitting streak set back in 2013 … Was named SEC Freshman of the Week on Feb. 22 after hitting her first three homers of her career in the Campbell/Cartier Classic … Has five doubles on the season to lead all Kentucky hitters … Hit two home runs vs. San Diego State in a 5-2 win over the Aztecs … Has 12 multi-hit games this season … Had a season-high three runs scored in the Opening Day contest with No. 25 Notre Dame … Launched an RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning to score UK’s run against LSU in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals.

Pre-College: A four-year letterwinner at Oakville High School in St. Louis, Reed brings an enormous amount of athleticism to Lexington as a softball, basketball, track and hockey star. According to fullcountsoftball.com, Reed is the 32nd-best player in the class of 2015, saying Reed “has it all: quickness, arm strength, footwork, range and great instincts. At the plate she has speed and power and can just as easily hit a home run, a gap or lay down a bunt.” This fall, Reed paced the Tigers with a .564 average (53-for-94) with 44 runs scored, 16 doubles, two triples and 27 RBI. The speedster had a .610 on-base percentage and .777 slugging percentage, leading the team to the 2014 Capital City Invitational Championship. Reed earned countless awards this fall, including being named first team all-state, all-region, all-conference and all-district on top of earning the Suburban West Conference Player of the Year honor. Reed was also all-state, all-region, all-conference and all-district her junior and senior seasons, hitting .480 her junior year and .482 her sophomore season. Reed, who helped the Tigers earn the 2013 district and sectional championships, paced the team in hits her freshman year at Oakville, hitting .464 with a .513 on-base percentage. Reed played for the St. Louis Chaos in travel ball, helping the squad place fifth at 2014 USA/ASA 18u Gold Nationals along with fellow UK signee Jenny Schaper. An all-around athlete, Reed was a 300-meter hurdle conference champion and was a captain on the AAA St. Louis Lady Blues hockey team. A four-year honor roll student and member of the National Honor Society, Reed was a HOBY Leadership Award nominee and Glory of Missouri Award for Virtue recipient. Reed also spent time volunteering in her community for the St. Patrick’s Center and Special Olympics. Daughter of Mike and Debbie Reed, Katie was born in Memphis, Tenn. Katie has a sister, Baeley, who is a softball player at Drexel, and a brother, Jake.
