Abby Hammond, one of the most decorated high school players in the state of Kentucky, joins the Wildcats with prowess both in the circle and at the dish. Hammond, a two-time Kentucky Gatorade Player of the Year in softball (2022, 24) comes to Kentucky with 1,132 career strikeouts as a pitcher and brings an impressive .571 batting average at the plate with her. Hammond is also slugging over 1.300 in her high school career with 40 RBI and 13 homers. She is a four-time 2A State Player of the Year, 4x First Team All-State member and 2x Kentucky 2A State Tournament MVP.
