Carly Sleeman Homers in 9-1 Loss to No. 3 Oklahoma
NORMAN, Okla. – No. 3 Oklahoma clinched the series win Friday afternoon with a 9-1 in over Kentucky in five innings despite a lead-off home run from Carly Sleeman to begin the game in the top of the first inning. The Sooners scored twice in the first, four times in the second, once in the third and twice in the fourth to close the book on the Wildcats.
The Sooners nine runs came on nine hits with Kentucky scoring one run on four hits, including Sleeman’s lead-off bomb to start the game.
Kentucky is now 22-18 on the year and sits 1-13 in Southeastern Conference play. The Sooners are 37-3 overall and 10-1 in SEC play, as they co-lead the conference with Texas.
Game three of the series will be Saturday at Noon ET/11 a.m. CT from Love’s Field with coverage airing live on SEC Network+ and the ESPN app.
