Hailey Nutter Throws Second No-Hitter in 8-0 Win Sunday
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Freshman Hailey Nutter threw her second no-hitter in three weeks Sunday as she only faced one above the minimum with Kentucky beating Indiana State 8-0 to close out the 2026 Blues City Invitational in Memphis.
With the no-hitter, Nutter becomes the first player at Kentucky to throw multiple no-hitters since Kelsey Nunley did it in 2016 and the freshman has now done it in two of the first three weeks of the season on the heels of her no-no against Loyola-Chicago on Opening Weekend in San Diego.
Offensively, Kentucky scored eight runs on 12 hits as the Wildcats had traffic on the basepaths all afternoon and went through three of the Sycamore’s pitchers. Eight of the nine players in Kentucky’s starting order had at least one hit in the game and three Wildcats went for multi-hit games including Karissa Hamilton, who had the walk-off single in the bottom of the fifth inning to close the game.
Kentucky completes its road trip 6-0 and is now 12-4 on the season overall, and has won season-high six games in a row. The Wildcats will now take the midweek off and get prepared to host the 2026 John Cropp Classic in Lexington beginning Friday with showdowns against Michigan State and Dayton at JCS.
