Kentucky STUNT Wins Mid America West Conference Tournament

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky STUNT team earned the Mid America West Conference Tournament title on Saturday, beating Trevecca Nazarene 23-4 inside Historic Memorial Coliseum.

Kentucky claimed its first conference title in the program’s four-year existence. The Cats also won their 27th game on the season, which is a school record.

In the first quarter, partner stunts, the teams tied on the first routine before Trevecca Nazarene took the lead on the second routine. The Cats would bounce back to win the final two points of the period and UK led 3-2 after one quarter.

The teams would tie the first routine of the second quarter, pyramids and tosses, before Kentucky took the final three points. The Cats would lead 7-3 at the half.

Kentucky broke the game open in the third period, jumps and tumbling. The Cats won all four points to extend their lead to 11-3 with one quarter remaining.

The Cats dominated the final stanza, team routine, claiming 12 points to just one for the Trojans.

Kentucky returns to action on April 24 and 25 at the STUNT Division I national championships in Nashville. UK’s opponent and game time have yet to be determined.
