
No. 20 Ole Miss Evens Series With 6-4 Win Saturday
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 20 Ole Miss Rebels scored six unanswered runs to knock off Kentucky 6-4 on Saturday afternoon at John Cropp Stadium to even the series and set up a rubber match Sunday at 11 a.m. ET from Lexington.
Kentucky jetted out to a 3-0 lead thanks to an RBI double in the bottom of the first from Peyton Plotts and then two RBI hits from Maddy Clark and Allie Blum in the second inning to give UK the front foot. Ole Miss just three hits through the first five innings, but took advantage of two Kentucky errors in the sixth inning to score four runs and took a 6-3 lead.
The Wildcats managed to score a run in the seventh inning as Lauryn Borzilleri put a ball the other way to score Maddy Clark, who tripled with two outs to extend the game, but a strikeout ended the game with the tying run at the plate.
Kentucky with the loss falls to 20-11 with a 4-4 Southeastern Conference record through Saturday. Ole Miss is now 25-6 with a 3-2 SEC record. Aliyah Binford picked up the win for Ole Miss, pitching 5.0 complete innings on three runs with six hits. Sydney Langdon threw well for Kentucky, allowing only two earned runs of the six allowed with four strikeouts in 5.1 innings pitched. Langdon is now 2-3 on the season.
Dick Gabriel and Carol Bruggeman will call the rubber match Sunday afternoon at 11 a.m. ET on SEC Network+. The time has been moved up two hours in anticipation of potential weather moving in for the afternoon.

Jaden Pone gave Ole Miss its first lead of the game in the top of the sixth inning on a two-run single.

Kentucky’s key player was Sydney Langdon, who allowed just two runs in 5.1 innings.

- Saturday marked the first time all year that Kentucky had scored first in an SEC game, as UK was scored on first in each of its first seven SEC contests.
