Kentucky Volleyball Ready For Japan Foreign Tour Trip

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Volleyball team is one week out from its departure to one of the most famous cities in the world, Tokyo, Japan, where it will experience an 11-day foreign tour throughout the country spanning from May 19-29.

Kentucky will be playing five matches during its trip, up from the initial three back in April when the trip was previously announced. The match schedule kicks off May 22 vs. Senri Kinran University followed up by a match the next day vs. Senri Kinran University again, which is in Osaka, Japan outside of the capital city. The Wildcats will then play on May 25 after an off day from competition vs. Ryokoku University in Kyoto, Japan with the trip’s fourth match slated for May 27 vs. NNS University. The final match will be May 28 vs. Nihon University.

The team will be sightseeing through Tokyo early on in the trip with scheduled visits to bullet trains, the Osaka Castle, Dontonbori, Kyoto, Money Bamboo Forest, Main Palace, Meiji Shrine, Harajuku, Shibuya and Asakusa.

 

Kentucky Volleyball in Japan Match Schedule:

May 22 – vs. Senri Kinran University

May 23 – vs. Senri Kinran University

May 25 – vs. Ryokoku University

May 27 – vs. NNS University

May 28 – vs. Nihon University

The NCAA allows a collegiate team to take a foreign tour every four years. The Wildcats have previously visited China and Brazil as part of this NCAA legislative rule and will be leaving for Japan on May 19 as Kentucky Volleyball adds another exciting chapter to its foreign tour history.
