Langdon’s Masterpiece Hands No. 23 Kentucky SEC Series Win
AUBURN, Ala. – Thanks to a complete-game masterpiece by freshman pitcher Sydney Langdon who carried a perfect game into the sixth inning, the No. 23 Kentucky Softball team beat Auburn 2-1 on Sunday night to secure a series win over the Tigers in a pitcher’s dual on The Plains.
Langdon threw all seven innings, allowing just two Auburn hits in the contest, as she carried a perfect game into the bottom of the sixth inning. The Perry, Georgia native allowed a lead-off homer in the sixth, but used one of her five strikeouts to end the inning with runners stranded on second and third with two outs and then ended the game with a strikeout of the same batter, Aubrey Lech, on a 2-2 pitch.
Kentucky’s two runs came on its first hit of the game off the bat of catcher Karissa Hamilton, as she pushed a two-RBI single up the middle in the top of the fourth inning to score Delani Sullivan and Grace Lorsung with two outs.
