Kentucky STUNT Falls to Highly-Ranked Davenport

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Kentucky STUNT team rallied late, but fell at Davenport 20-11 on Saturday night.

Davenport, the top-ranked Division II team in the country, scored the first two points of the game in the first quarter, partner stunts. The teams tied the third routine but the Panthers won the final point of the quarter and took a 4-1 lead.

In the second quarter, pyramids and tosses, Davenport again got started quickly. The Panthers won the first three points of the period before the teams tied on the final route. Davenport led 8-2 at the half.

The third quarter, jumps and tumbling, produced four more points for Davenport and two for Kentucky, making the score 12-4 after three quarters.

In the final quarter, team routine, Kentucky tried to rally, The Cats earned three points on the first routine to just one for Davenport. The Panthers would earn two points to UK’s one on each of the next two routines. DU closed the game by winning three points to UK’s two on the final routine.

Kentucky returns to action on Sunday with a pair of games at Davenport. UK will face Michigan State at 10 a.m. ET, then will take on Davenport again, with that game scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET.
