Women’s Tennis Heads to North Carolina Regional for ITA Kickoff Weekend

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky women’s tennis (3-0) will travel to Chapel Hill, N.C. for ITA Kickoff Weekend, Jan. 26-29. The No. 3 slotted Wildcats will take on No. 2 Charlotte (2-2) at 11 a.m. EST on Friday at the Cone-Kenfield indoor courts at the Chewning Tennis Center.

Following Friday’s contest, the Carolina Regional will feature a Saturday match at 3 p.m. or 6 p.m. against UNC or Oregon in the second round of the tournament or in the consolation round.

The Wildcats head into the weekend following three wins to start the 2024 spring at home against ETSU, 5-2, Miami (Ohio), 7-0, and Penn State, 4-1. The successful start tallied the first victories for first-year head coach Shelley Jaudon and her staff.

The weekend’s matchups will be the first on the road for the Wildcats this spring.

UK’s 2024 squad features returners Lizzy Stevens, Makayla Mills, Ellie Eades, Lidia Gonzalez, Maialen Morante, Zoe Hammond and Ellie Myers with newcomer Julia Zhu making her Wildcat debut.
