Women’s Tennis Hosts Penn State for Saturday Contest

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky women’s tennis (2-0) will continue its season-opening homestand on Saturday for a 10 a.m. EST contest against Penn State at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center.

The Wildcats head into the weekend following two wins last Sunday against ETSU, 5-2, and Miami (Ohio), 7-0. The successful doubleheader tallied the first victories for first-year head coach Shelley Jaudon and her staff.

Saturday will open the 2024 spring for the Nittany Lions who last played the Wildcats in February 2023. The contest concluded with a 4-1 home win for Penn State. The two programs hold an all-time series record of 4-2 UK.

UK’s 2024 squad features returners Lizzy Stevens, Makayla Mills, Ellie Eades, Lidia Gonzlalez, Maialen Morante, Zoe Hammond and Ellie Myers with newcomer Julia Zhu.

Following Saturday’s matchup, the Cats will travel to Chapel Hill, N.C. for ITA Kickoff Weekend (Jan. 26-27). For the full 2024 spring match slate with locations and times, click here.
