LEXINGTON, Ky. — The 2026 SEC Women’s Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year was awarded to Kentucky’s Zoe Hammond today by the conference office. The accolade was announced prior to the match on Wednesday, the Wildcats’ opening match of the conference tournament.
Hammond graduated with a 4.0 grade-point average in Economics, becoming the only student-athlete in 2025 recognized as an Academic All-American to achieve a perfect GPA. She completed her bachelor’s degree in just three years, further highlighting her exceptional academic discipline and commitment, and now studies towards a dual certificate in Technical Writing and Business Analytics.
In addition to her 2026 recognition, Hammond was previously named the 2025 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, selected to the Academic All-America Third Team, and earned a spot on the Academic All-District Team. She was also honored on the court with 2025 All-SEC Second Team distinctions.
Hammond achieved a career-high singles ranking of No. 35 and has recorded six ranked singles victories during her Kentucky career. Among her most notable wins this season was a victory over the No. 1-ranked singles player in the nation, Texas’ Herea. Hammond has primarily competed at No. 1 singles for the Wildcats over the past two seasons, anchoring the lineup against top national competition.
