LEXINGTON, Ky. – The 2026 Academic All-District® Women’s Tennis Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the courts and in the classroom. This year, senior Zoe Hammond and junior Julia Zhu have been recognized for their hard work.
Individuals are nominated on behalf of each school, in which they must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have a 3.50 GPA, and compete in 75% of team scored competitions throughout the season.
Hammond, who received this honor for the third consecutive year, completed her B.A. in Economics a year ago as a junior. This year, Hammond finished two graduate certificates in Business Analytics and Technical Writing. Throughout college, she upheld an impressive 4.0 GPA in both her undergraduate and graduate studies and intends to attend law school in the next few years.
Zhu received the Academic All-District honor for the second consecutive year as a Wildcat. She is studying Public Health and has earned a 3.92 GPA while doing so.
Both of these Wildcats hold national rankings of their own for their play, No. 78 Hammond and No. 109 Zhu, and are once again recognized for their work in the classroom with this honor.
