Kentucky Softball Announces 2024 Schedule
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Head coach Rachel Lawson and the Kentucky Softball team announced its 2024 schedule on Tuesday evening.
The Wildcats will face another daunting schedule this season, going up against four Women’s College World Series teams, seven that made the NCAA Super Regional round and 17 different team that qualified for the NCAA Tournament a season ago.
2024 will also mark Kentucky’s return to the ESPN Shirners Children’s Clearwater Elite Invitational presented by Evoshield, the premier college softball non-conference tournament with all games televised on ESPN family of networks.
The season will kick off on Super Bowl weekend with UK making the trek out west to San Diego to compete in the SDSU Season Kick-off with games against Stanford, Minnesota, SDSU and UC Santa Barbara. At the ESPN tournament, UK will play Texas, Washington, Wisconsin, North Carolina and UCF from Feb. 15-17 in Clearwater, Florida at the Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex in the Sunshine State.
The Carolinas will come calling for UK in the later stages of February with Kentucky playing in Spartanburg, South Carolina and Charlotte, North Carolina on back-to-back weekends. The annual John Cropp Classic will feature Ohio State, South Dakota State and Columbia and will be held March 15-17 in Lexington.
Southeastern Conference play begins with a series against LSU from March 8-10 as one of four home SEC series as Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina will make the trip to Lexington. UK on the road will play Florida, Texas A&M, Auburn and Tennessee in league play.
The 2024 SEC Tournament will be hosted by the Auburn Tigers from May 7-11.
