Women’s Tennis Returns Home for a Three Match Weekend

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky women’s tennis (6-4, 1-1 SEC) will return to the Hillary J. Boone Varsity Tennis Center for the first set of home matches since January 25.

On Friday, UK will take on Southeastern Conference opponent No. 3 Georgia (8-3, 2-0 SEC) for a Noon EST match. The Cats will then be back at The Boone on Sunday for a Noon matchup with No. 16 Tennessee (9-2, 2-0 SEC) and in-state rival Bellarmine (3-10) at 4 p.m.

The Wildcats are looking for its second conference victory of the 2023 campaign following a victorious swing at Mississippi State but a tough loss at Ole Miss last weekend starting conference play with a 1-1 record. The win against Mississippi State was the first SEC victory for Kentucky since April 8, 2021.

Kentucky last faced Georgia in Athens, Ga. last season which resulted in a 0-4 UK defeat. The last match against Tennessee also did not end how the Wildcats had hoped in Knoxville, Tenn. resulting in a 0-4 UK defeat. However, the last matchup with Bellarmine last season in Lexington resulted in a 4-0 Wildcat victory.
