Kentucky Softball 2023 Promotional Schedule Announced
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Softball team announced its home 2023 promotional schedule on Wednesday afternoon, one week before it kicks off its home season of games on March 8 against the Dayton Flyers at John Cropp Stadium.
The 2023 home schedule features some of the best teams in the Southeastern Conference and the nation, with currently-ranked No. 5 Tennessee, No. 7 Arkansas, No. 9 Florida and No. 24 Texas A&M making the trip to the Bluegrass with the addition of powerhouse Michigan, cross-state foes Louisville and EKU, as well as hosting the 2023 John Cropp Classic.
Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday game of the season will have a consistent promotion with Friday’s being BINGO night at the ballpark, Saturday’s including a face painter and on Sunday’s kids run the bases with Taylor Belle’s ice cream.
The aforementioned 2023 John Cropp Classic will take place March 18-19 with the giveaway a UK Softball jersey koozie in addition to it being Youth Weekend. The Wildcats open their 2023 home SEC schedule against Texas A&M on March 24-26 with that weekend serving as Classic Movie Weekend and a themed poster giveaway.
Tennessee visits Lexington April 14-16 for Donate Life Weekend at John Cropp Stadium. There will be a blood drive on Saturday and special promotions all week that help Big Blue Nation understand the meaning of organ and blood donation. Nathan’s Taqueria food truck will be on site, and there will be a UK Softball visor giveaway, as well.
Bark in the Park weekend will be held April 21-23 as UK hosts two-time defending SEC champion, Arkansas. Friendly K9’s will be allowed inside the park and treats will be provided for the pups upon admission into John Cropp Stadium.
UK and Louisville’s annual nationally-televised clash on March 29 will be “Seven Innings of Winnings” with prizes packed into the evening throughout the game. Other in-state foe EKU on April 26 will come to Lexington on Hawaiian Night, with a free lei giveaway.
As is tradition, Senior Weekend will be held on the final home SEC series of the season, with UK hosting No. 9 Florida from May 5-7. Seniors Kayla Kowalik, Sloan Gayan, Rylea Smith and Kennedy Sullivan will be honored before Saturday’s game against the Gators as well as Cinco De Mayo themed food and a silipint giveaway.
