Kentucky to Play in ESPN’s 2024 TaxAct Clearwater Invitational
BRISTOL, Ct. – The Kentucky Softball team will be a part of the field next year at the 2024 TaxAct Clearwater Invitational presented by EvoShield, it was announced by ESPN.
The annual premier non-conference tournament hosted by ESPN in Clearwater, Florida will be held for the fifth time in 2024, with Kentucky making its second appearance in the event, having taken part of the inaugural tournament in 2019.
The tournament will run from Thursday, February 15 through Sunday night, February 18 at the Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex in Clearwater, Florida. Every game of the tournament will be broadcasted live on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network, ACC Network or ESPN+. The Women’s College World Series announce crew of Beth Mowins, Amanda Scarbrough and Michele Smith combine to call the most elite games from the event from the main fields.
Included in the field are 16 total teams, including four of the eight that advanced to the 2022 NCAA Women’s College World Series. Of the 16 teams selected to the event next February, four are from the Southeastern Conference, as UK is joined by LSU, Tennessee and Georgia. Currently, 12 of the 16 teams are ranked in the top-25 of both major polls for week three of the 2023 season.
Ticket information and schedules will be released at a later time this offseason leading into the 2024 season.
