Day Two Results

VESTAVIA HILLS, ALABAMA – Junior Campbell Kremer posted a career-low 4-under-par 66 to lead the Kentucky men’s golf team in the final round of the stroke play portion of SEC Match Play Monday at Old Overton Club in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. The Wildcats finished in 14th place as a team at 10-over-par and will take on Arkansas in match play Tuesday morning.

Kremer carded six birdies against two bogeys on the par-70 course to climb into a tie for 23rd, marking his best finish of the season. Senior Alex Goff continued his bounce-back from a difficult opening round Sunday morning, posting a 1-under 69 Monday after carding a 3-under 67 Sunday afternoon to tie for 36th. The round marked the Kings Mountain, N.C., native’s team-best sixth round of par-or-better in nine tries in the 2022-23 season.

Graduate Garrett Wood had an up-and-down final round, tallying two birdies and five bogeys on his way to a 3-over 73 and a tie for 58th finish. Freshman Kevin Watts couldn’t overcome a double-bogey on the par-4 seventh hole and a triple-bogey on the par-3 12th, carding a 4-over 74 to finish in a tie for 66th, while graduate Dhaivat Pandya closed stroke play in 69th place after a final-round 76.

As a team, Kentucky’s 172 pars ranked third in the field, while Watts tied for fourth in the field with 37 pars.
