LEXINGTON, Ky. – After ending the previous season ranked 16th in the country, the Kentucky Wildcats appeared at No. 14 in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Preseason Poll on Wednesday.

Kentucky is set to return 18 players from its 2020 squad that finished 12-5-2 en route to the program’s third appearance in the NCAA Championship round of 16.

The Wildcats will face three Conference USA opponents ranked in the top 25—including the nation’s top-ranked team—all on the road. Kentucky will open the season at No. 25 Coastal Carolina in the Chanticleers’ first official contest as a C-USA affiliate on Thursday, Aug. 26, at 7 p.m. ET.

A month later, the Cats will resume league play at No. 1 Marshall on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m. The Thundering Herd captured the first national championship in C-USA history last May.

Kentucky’s penultimate regular season battle will take place Saturday, Oct. 30, against No. 18 Charlotte at 7 p.m.

Admission to all 2021 UK soccer matches at Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex is free to the public. For the latest on the Kentucky men’s soccer team, follow @UKMensSoccer on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, as well as on the web at UKAthletics.com.
