No. 12 Kentucky Hosts Louisville at John Cropp Stadium on ESPNU
LEXINGTON, Ky. – John Cropp Stadium takes center stage in the Bluegrass on Wednesday night, as the annual “Battle of the Bluegrass” returns to Lexington for the battle between No. 12 Kentucky Softball and the Louisville Cardinals.
The game will begin at 7 p.m. ET and will be shown live on ESPNU, ESPN3 and the ESPN app with Eric Frede and former Tennessee All-American, Madison Shipman on the call from Lexington.
Tickets are available for Wednesday night’s game by going to UKathletics.com/tickets or by calling the UK Ticket Office in Lexington. Fans are asked in 2021 to adhere to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions by wearing a mask unless actively eating or drinking and social distancing as much as possible throughout your time at the ballpark.
The first game of the home-and-home back on April 7 was cancelled due to weather in the Louisville metro area. This will be the team’s only meeting of the season.
The all-time series between UL and UK is tied at 20-20, with Louisville winning the last match-up between the two sides back in 2019 in walk-off fashion. The win snapped UK’s four-game winning streak against the Cards.
Kentucky is 30-10 on the season with a 6-9 mark in Southeastern Conference play. Under the direction of third-year head coach, and Rachel Lawson’s former roommate and teammate at UMass, Holly Aprile, Louisville is 16-19 on the 2021 season and is 10-14 in the ACC after losing three of four to nationally-ranked Duke this past weekend in the Derby City.
