Three UK Women’s Soccer Returners, One Newcomer Named to SEC Preseason Watch List

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Four University of Kentucky women’s soccer players were tabbed to the 2020 Southeastern Conference Preseason Watch List, including returners Marissa Bosco, Hannah Richardson and Jordyn Rhodes, while newcomer Brooke Littman gets a quick nod from the league. The watch list comes four days prior to the program’s first kick of the season, as the team is scheduled to open the fall schedule at Vanderbilt on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 3 p.m. on the SEC Network.

Bosco, a redshirt senior, has been named to the league’s preseason watch list three straight seasons (2018-20), while Rhodes, Richardson and Littman are appearing on the list for the first time in their careers.

Bosco, a midfielder from St. Charles, Illinois, is expected to bring a lot of experience and leadership to the field once again this season. In 2019, the then-redshirt junior logged seven points on three goals and one assist, becoming the third top scorer on the team. Two of her three goals last season were game-winners.

Sophomores Richardson and Rhodes are returning for their second season after a couple of breakout performances in 2019. As freshmen, the duo tied for the team lead in goals last season, scoring eight each. In fact, the pair went tit-for-tat in nearly every statistical category, including logging 17 points each on eight goals and one assist, while also scoring one game-winning goal each and firing off 18 shots on goal each.

Building on the success Bosco, Richardson and Rhodes had just a season ago, Littman, a redshirt senior, is sure to make an immediate impact. The goalkeeper, a transfer from Notre Dame, started in 13 games for the Irish last season, leading their program with seven wins, six shutouts and 1,230 minutes played, setting career highs in each of those categories. The Manhattan Beach, California, native allowed one goal or less in eight of her 13 starts in 2019, while the Irish went on to go 6-0-2 in those games. Littman’s best individual performance came on the road at then-No. 3 North Carolina when she captured a career-high six saves.
