UK Baseball Hosts Swing For Your Seats Home Run Derby

by UK Athletics Communications and PR

If you’ve ever dreamed of hitting a home run at Kentucky Proud Park your opportunity to make it a reality is coming. On Saturday, October 12 UK baseball will host Swing For Your Seats, which gives fans the chance to win 2020 season tickets.

Fans can purchase increments of five swings to launch one out of the Wildcats’ home park, with home run distance adjusted for different age groups. Five swings will cost $20 for adults, $15 for UK students and staff and $10 for children. Children under eight years old will need to clear the 200-foot mark, kids eight to 13 at 230 feet and adults a true home run. Pitches will come from a pitching machine. Any fan that hits a home run will receive two dugout chair back seats. Fans under that age of 18 must have an adult present to sign the participating waiver. NCAA regulations prohibit recruitable aged individuals (9th-12th grades) and high school coaches from participating.

The competition will be open from 3 to 5 p.m. before the Cats take on Arkansas in football at 7:30 p.m. at adjacent Kroger Field. Proceeds will go to the UK baseball Diamond Club to help fund the program.

The Diamond Club is the official booster program of Kentucky Baseball. Through Diamond Club Members’ financial contributions and community support, Kentucky Baseball will be able to continue to develop our student-athletes on and off the field. For more information on the Diamond Club email Cameron Langfels at Cam.Langfels@uky.edu or Larry Cash at Larry.Cash@uky.edu and visit https://bit.ly/300v1rt.
