Cheek Hits 18th HR of Season In Late-Inning Loss to No. 3 Alabama
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide got three runs, all with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning to snatch a win from No. 23 Kentucky in a series-evening 3-1 win over the Wildcats on Saturday night.
The Wildcats took a 1-0 lead in the top of the sixth inning off the bat of Abbey Cheek on her team-leading 18th home run of the season, but couldn’t hold on to the lead in the bottom half.
The rubber match of the series will be on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET, and will be shown live on the SEC Network, ESPN3 and the ESPN app with Mark Neely (pxp) and former Washington All-American and national champion, Danielle Lawrie on the call.

4. With Saturday’s result, Alabama evens the series and it sets up Kentucky’s fourth rubber match of the season in Southeastern Conference play this season. Kentucky is 0-3 in those games so far this season.
