Four-Run Fifth Dooms No. 17 Kentucky on Tuesday Night
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 17 Kentucky Wildcats surrendered four runs in the top of the fifth inning, and lost to Western Kentucky, 4-1 on Tuesday night at John Cropp Stadium.
UK will return to Southeastern Conference play this weekend, as they travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas for a three-game series at Bogle Park. Game one is Friday night at 7 p.m. ET.
4. The Wildcats current four-game losing streak is the first since March of 2018.
The key play in the game for Kentucky was Mallory Peyton’s home run in the bottom of the fourth to put Kentucky up 1-0.

Western Kentucky scored two runs on back-to-back home runs with two outs by Paige Carter and Jordan Thomas. That was followed by a two-run shot from Shannon Plese. WKU 4, UK 1
