Women’s Tennis Falls to No. 10 Michigan in Round of 32
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 20 Kentucky women’s tennis exited the NCAA
Championships in the Second Round after a 4-1 loss to host school tenth-ranked
Michigan on Saturday. The Wildcats season ends with a record of 18-10, while
the Wolverines advance to the Round of 16.
Kentucky secured
the doubles point after the top-ranked doubles pair of Adila Sutjiadi and Mami
Adachi continued their stellar play with a win over No. 11 Brienne Minor and
Mira Ruder-Hook, 6-4. The duo picked up their 16th win of the season
and increased their career win total to 28. Senior Kirsten Lewis and Freshman
Akvile Paražinskaite won their match at No. 3 doubles over Ronit Yurovsky and
Kara Hall, 7-5.
Adachi and
Sutjiadi will head to Tulsa, Okla., as the No. 2 overall see in the doubles
tournament field of 32, while Sutjiadi will appear in singles as an at-large
bid in the field of 64. The singles and doubles competition will be held May
25-30 at the Case Tennis Center.
